Instagram Is Down Due to a June 29, 2012 Thunderstorm. When Will It Be Back?

The internet is having  a rough day. Several major websites went down on Friay, June 29, 2012 during to a storm. Among the site affected: Netflix, Instagram, and Pinterest.

While some of the sites have recovered, it appears that Instagram is still down as of the afternoon of June 30, 2012.

Why Is Instagram Down?

Instragram went down late Friday night  when powerful thunder storms took down Amazon's Compute Cloud.

When Is Instagram Back Up?

No official word yet as to when you can expect to be able to take more sepia-toned photographs.

Instagram's came via Twitter early Saturday morning

"Due to severe electrical storms, our host had a power outage, no data is lost – we've been working through the night to restore service"
