iPhone 3.0 Problems: Shall I Compare Thee to Microsoft?
What's this? First Obama kills a fly, and now Apple's much-anticipated piece-de-resistance (of the month), the iPhone 3.0, has inelegant glitches? Oh, how our idols have fallen.
iPhone 3.0, how much do you vex me? Let me count the ways:
1. The iPhone 3.0 activation server is be temporarily unavailable for some, due to Apple's overloaded servers. Damn those Apple geeks.
Also, error messages pertaining to connectivity issues might be your ISP, or still possibly server timeout. For server overload, you'll need to wait for others to get their downloads before yours will finish. If you are encountering any problems, it is best to wait as there have been reports of some users experiencing 'brickin', a state that basically locks your iPhone and makes it unavailable for use.
2. AT&T phones may experience bricking with the new iPhone 3.0 upgrade. Bricking is when your phone locks up and can only call 911.
3. The iPhone 3.0 upgrade has sent some users' phones into "unrecoverable mode", and the activation process remains incomplete.
4. iTunes produces error messages for some. This is also a result of the upgrade not completing properly.
But fear not, fellow knights of the Apple-shaped table. These problems should not last long, and then we shall all be able to accomplish glorious feats armed with new features such as iPhone 3.0 MMS and the mighty iPhone 3.0 jailbreak software.
To prevent Apple from releasing a patch for their new prize, the Dev Team has been patiently sitting on their baseband secret and waiting. In fact, if you are a yellosn0w user, you‘ll have to wait a while longer before upgrading to 3.0. The Dev Team won't be releasing ultrasn0w until Apple releases the iPhone 3G S this Friday. The reason for the pullback is a sneaking suspicion that ultrasn0w could be adapted for the iPhone 3G S. The Dev Team's other jailbreaking tools, QuickPwn and Pwnage Tool, will be released after Apple launches iPhone OS 3.0.

After I upgraded my iPhone to 3.0, all of my Apps were gone. A call to tech support indicated I would have to "repurchase" and download them again. Not very practical since I have 50+ apps on there. So after a couple of failed resyncs, I basically unchecked "Sync All Apps", did a sync and then checked and resynced. All my apps showed up, however I had a blank page in my home screen when i scrolled back and forth. So...I went into settings and did a reset on my home screen. Well, that fixed the blank page, but subsequently all my apps now have the wrong icons....Very poor QA I must say from Apple..

Previous to this upgrade my phone worked near flawlessly. Now I experience the following constantly.
-The phone locking up on the home screen even scrolling through regular icons
-iTunes is a blank white page
-VERY slow typing
-Phone freezing for up to 10 sec at a time on the contacts page
Had hardly any issues before. Definitley do NOT recommend this upgrade. I'm switching to a backup.

I just upgraded to 3.0, and all my apps are gone. Repurchasing apps is bullshit - I already paid for them. What can I do to get them back? some apps cost me $20 or more?

My I phone went from perfect & flawless to a useless hunk of plastic. Won't stay on wi fi, calls go straight to VM....A worm in the apple and Steve Jobs is still around...is he even involved or has mediocrity taken hold at Apple?

Since upgrading to Iphone 3.0, if I log onto aol email (aol.com) using safari, when I click reply to a particular email, I get a lot of gibberish included in the email as such -->

p.MsoNormal,#AOLMsgPart_2_7377392a-8093-46db-b3bb-e5630dd5efe2

font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";}#AOLMsgPart_2_7377392a-8093-46db-b3b
It never used to do that before - I checked the settings on aol.com and it shows
that is in rich text - so I am at a loss to correct this.

you dont have to repurchase your apps again... just go back to your itunes and go to your applications and you will see your apps there..

Has anyone else noticed extreme 3g lag since upgrading. Edge works fine still but I didn't pay to upgrade from my original iPhone to the 3g to continue using edge.

I had to replace my I-phone after it got wet... I was able to get my apps no problem by re-applying for them and if I paid before they automatically sent them free.
But.... I can't send e-mails. I have trried everything. I receive e-mails and can go online but I can't send. Any one else having this problem? I have a POP account
