Co-founder of Yahoo Jerry Yang has today submitted his resignation from the company he once helped build. Yang was a one time CEO of the company before leaving that position in 2008 to work on the board of directors. Yang had been with the company for 16 years seeing the company rise.

His statement on the matter reads: "My time at Yahoo!, from its founding to the present, has encompassed some of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life. However, the time has come for me to pursue other interests outside of Yahoo!"

Yang helped found the company in 1995 with the help of David Filo.
