Final Update - Patrick did appear briefly last night on The Daily Show. If you would like to see him appear as a guest for The Daily Show to face off with Jon Stewart, you can vote for him here http://guests.dailyshownews.com/akira/dtd/16867-2313

Update - There is no confirmation. Sorry folks. I wouldn't bother staying up for it if you have other things to do, like sleeping, since he may not be on, You can always watch the video version or the replay tomorrow evening. I do believe he will be on in the future. You will not hear from me when that is since I have botched this so badly. Again, my apologies to all.

Dear Honored Client,

We take seriously our duty to save you money. We know the current financial crisis is of concern to many of you. If so, you may find this interesting. Otherwise, please just enjoy your shopping.

In recent weeks, “The Daily Show”’s Jon Stewart has exposed TV personality Jim Cramer as a liar (see these recent clips, 1 2 3). But I think he’s worse: I think he’s a criminal.

If that sounds hard to believe, please see this video (which Jim did not expect to reach the public) of Jim Cramer bragging about using the press to manipulate the stock market illegally. For a full analysis of the career of Jim Cramer, please read my essay: “Jim Cramer is a Complicated Man.”

Warren Buffet says that, “If you ever sit down at a poker table and in 15 minutes haven’t figured out who the pigeon is, you’re the pigeon.” Similarly, if you are getting any advice from Jim Cramer or CNBC, you are the pigeon. CNBC is a 24/7 hedge fund infomecial designed to trick you into making bad investments for the benefit of hedge funds. Again, watch the tape of Jim. Then read the critique. Then turn off CNBC.

Or else, just ignore this message and enjoy your shopping.

Most respectfully,

Patrick M. Byrne, PhD

I love to be around to see the unveiling of a con artist. It makes me happy. Hopefully, this will be a long, slow story so we can all enjoy it for a long long while.

Thanks for making my Monday morning a good one.

The video is a hoot and a half. I am still laughing. Patrick is always a hoot too so this should be good.

It is a takeoff on Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

You can look it up on youtube since the spam filter on now public won't allow the link.

Now they are checking to see if Patrick will be on. I was told by my source it was definite but obviously he may have been mistaken. Sorry. I will keep everybody posted.

On CNBC, it isn't just Jim Cramer.  So many others had their heads up their own.... er, wallets, other CEO's ... er, wallets.  Bob Pisani proved his total lack of insight with several "oh, this is just so insane..." type of comments last August and September.  I had to turn off CNBC and switched to Bloomberg as CNBC had so little clue as to what was really happening to the markets when this started over the cliff.

So, let me commend the makers of this video.  I hope that this makes it to several Congress' folks desks and that they really think about reviewing the license of CNBC and "serving the public good".  GE should be called out onto the carpet for not forcing CNBC to play it absolutely straight and muzzle the incredible misleading reports by their biased staff.

Be sure to vote and let him and Jon Stewart rip Cramer a new one!

Suzie Orman is another shill imo. She came on CNBC a few months ago and told people to listen to Cramer. "He is never wrong." It is so sad what people will do, even when they already have great wealth.

Here is a good video which Patrick is in. It runs 25 minutes and was done by Bloomberg, called Phantom Shares.

It has one of my favorite lines by PB at the end.

Like these roads his battle still seems uphill but Byrne says he won’t quit.

"So it becomes like a game of chicken. And I’m putting a brick on the accelerator and take my hands off the wheel. And if they do the same thing and we crash, we crash. "
