John Lennon: New Advert: One Laptop per Child (OLPC)

In a bizarre advert John Lennon speaks from the grave to urge support for a campaign to give every child in the world a laptop.

His bereaved wife Yoko Ono has given her support for the campaign.

More than a quarter of a century after his death, John Lennon is still appealing to us to imagine a better world. The singer has been digitally resurrected in an advert asking people to donate laptops to the world's poorest children.

The former Beatle's voice and image have been stitched together using computers in a commercial for One Laptop Per Child, an organisation that aims to give low-cost, durable computers to young people in the Third World.

IMAGINE, John Lennon makes a TV ad for charity - 28 years after his death.

The former Beatle has urged support for a campaign to get "One Laptop per Child" for the world's poorest kids.

Through digital technology, he has appealed for help to deliver the tough, solar-powered XO laptop computers.

A voice and video image of Lennon has been created to say: "Imagine every child no matter where in the world they were could access a universe of knowledge.
