Johnny Bolton: Truck Maker- Mississippi River Rat Made from Scrap

Johnny Bolton built his own truck by hand from scraps. Johnny Bolton didn't just Frankenstein together the partos from other trucks: his is literally built from scrap metal, and is actually roadworthy. Johnny Bolton has dubbed his creation the Mississippi River Rat.

OK, so General Motors and Toyota can kick out thousands of vehicles in that amount of time.
Bet none of them hum like the 455 Bolton has under his hood, feature old license plates as part of the floorboard or have a bedpan for an air cleaner.

Johnny Bolton (aka the new DIY legend) assembled and welded the pick-up truck in only a year, using only hand tools and a welding torch in his home garage.

I had no idea that my story would get around like this.  It was a good feeling when Brent Engel came to me at the Bowling Green Mo Heritage Days car show and ask to do a story.   I never thought it would be like this.  Thanks Brent and everyone else who picked the story up.
