one can be fined $20 for the first offense with each additional infraction costing $50 a a pop (before penalty assessments that can drive up the fine three-fold). Today, this new California law went into effect requiring that adults (18 & up) use hands-free cellphone devices when behind the wheel. I admit I'm one of those folks that drive and talk. Did I mention that I'm very good at multi-tasking? Ha! Ha! Seriously thought . . . I do limit my calls especially on the freeway.
