Just wait for president`s return for new candidates of BI top post

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Yusuf Kalla said that the request for submission of new Bank Indonesia (central Bank) candidates from the government after the house`s rejection of the two previous candidates should wait till the arrival of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono from his foreign tour.

"Not yet, we still have to wait for the return of the president," Kalla said at his residence here on Thuesday afternoon.

As to the possibility of picking internal figures of BI for the central bank`s top post, Kalla said the law never specified candidates to be taken from within BI.

"No law requires BI gubernatorial candidates should come from within the central bank. Just follow the regulations," he noted. (*) end
