While reading an Associated Press report this morning about events that took place at the Bluegrass Ball Monday night, I found one important detail omitted from the report were as telling as the ones included.
The missing detail in the piece by Laurie Kellman was the one that would have explained how and where former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali learned to salute. After all, Ali has no military experience. Heck, while his fellow countrymen were half a world away, fighting and dying in Vietnam, he was busy establishing himself as an outspoken, draft-dodging conscientious objector.
Thanks for nothing, AP. Your incomplete report left much to be desired.

Ali payed a heavy price for objecting to the Vietnam War
by being stripped of the heavyweight title. As far as all those Americans dying, that was a shame, but why were they in Vietnam.
During the Sixties, Vietnam was hardly a threat to any other
countries National Security or World Peace.

B. Zelley -- Hardly a threat? Communism was a threat to spread throughout Southeast Asia!
