Was Kim Jong-Un Assassinated in Beijing? Unlikely Death Rumor Spreads on Weibo

Twitter isn't the only place for death rumors. Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, is alight with reports that newly-minted North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un was assassinated in Beijing.

The Kim Jong-Un assassination rumor has metastasized to Twitter: nobody wants to be the last to report the North Korean leader's death if the rumor turns out to be true (It most likely isn't).

However, we have to take the Kim Jong-Un death report with a pinch of salt, as Weibo has as many unfounded death rumors as Twitter. The rumors can't even get Kim Jong-Un's cause of death straight.

We're also not convinced that "official sources" would report the death of a foreign leader on Chinese soil so quickly, considering how slow the Chinese government has been to acknowledge the source of the recent high-speed train crash, or the rash of suicides at Foxconn.
