Lady Gaga is the new face of Polaroid, and actually now has a job with the photographic company: creative director and inventor of specialty products. Lady Gaga appeared at CES2010, announcing that she will be creating fashion/technology/photography products due to hit shelves later this year. I'm not sure if those will be cameras, or what. I still love Polaroid instant film, and use it whenever I get the chance, but Polaroid-the company- needs the business equivalent to that big adrenaline needle from Pulp Fiction. Maybe a Lady Gaga-Polaroid partnership is a step in the right direction- I hope so. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's Polaroid business cards are kind of boring: they look really corporate and boring. That's the problem, really, and why they're bringing a fashion-forward (or sideways) pop star on board.

Lady Gaga, if you're reading NowPublic, please do what you can to get Polaroid to reboot their instant-film production. So far, The Impossible Project has stepped up, though.

"Lifestyle, music, art, fashion: I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer and to — as my father puts it — finally, have a real job."
The problem is that people love Polaroid for what it made, which was aesthetically pleasing and reliable instant film and cameras; not for what it makes, which is... digital cameras like everybody else. In all fairness, Polaroid makes the PoGo, but I don't know of anyone who's actually used it, nor have I seen it in a store.
It may be little more than an intellectual property these days, but the defunct brand sure has created some buzz with this new appointment.

Polaroid has been developing several cross-industry partnerships in order to maintain relevancy in a fiercely-competitive digital world.

Meanwhile, we can now fully expect Westboro Baptist Church to start hating Polaroid.

You know that picture of Gaga with her new business card? Here's a google maps street view of what's actually at that address:maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&q=%224959+baker+road%22+MN&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=4959+Baker+Rd,+Minnetonka,+Hennepin,+Minnesota+55343&gl=us&ei=N8lGS-j5B4-HlAfvlPgF&ved=0CAoQ8gEwAA&ll=44.914629,-93.447497&spn=0.009072,0.022724&z=16&layer=c&cbll=44.914723,-93.447508&panoid=WtHNuRSOrlrmXIIhRtvakw&cbp=12,117.03,,0,17.24www.wickedlocal.com/concord/news/business/x142929712Polaroid's office is in Concord, MA. There is nothing at the address on her card except some random-ass suburban house. Why?
