Lauren Ferrari Banned from Facebook over Controversial Photo
Lauren Ferrari, a Seattle mom, has been banned from Facebook for posting a picture of her 5-year-old pretending to nurse her 2-year-old.
Seattle mom Lauren Ferrari posted a photo on Facebook of her 5-year-old pretending to nurse her 2-year-old. Within 24 hours, Facebook took the picture down "claiming Ferrari violated the site's policies," KOMONews reports. She was also banned from the social network for seven days.
"When I posted it, I said, 'She says she's nursing her baby' ... She didn't say, 'Mommy look, she's kissing my boobie,'" Ferrari told the news station. She didn't think the photo was inappropriate.
But Facebook -- and the police -- disagreed. Stefanie Thomas of the Seattle Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children told KOMONews that Ferrari's decision to post the photo was "poor parenting" because it's impossible to control where that photo might end up. "That's something that this family, that these girls, are going to have to ultimately deal with," Thomas said.

This mom is outrageous! She really thinks it is ok to have her babies kissing each others private areas. This is disgusting! Are people forgetting that this is a sexual act unless you are actually producing milk from your breasts? I breast fed 2 of my children and would never consider them sucking my breast if I am not producing milk for their consumption. I would never allow my children to partake in such nastiness!! She should be ashamed and so should EVERYONE who thinks this is ok!!! Hopefully these girls dont take this as the norm and do this when they are 13.

he isnt "kissing her privates"...They are CHILDREN; children that know nothing of nursing being an act sexualized over and over again by society. These children are not performing sexual acts, a big sister is play nursing her sibling. If from this picture, YOU derived that they are perfirming a sexual act, then it is YOU that harbors "nastiness", YOU are the one with inappropriate thoughts. I doubt at 13 they will be play nursing anymore than they would use a play bottle. Thats a ridiculous assumption. As for nursing without milk, I guess Im a total pervert, as I dry nursed both of my children after I quit producing too early. Shame on me for comforting my babies the only way they knew how.

Breast milk is better for babies than formula. Wouldn't it make more sense to ban pictures of kids pretending to bottle feed?
