Today, cellphones and other handheld devices rule the market but sad to say, they are the top most things that consume energy the most. According to a recent study conducted by the International Energy Agency (IEA), devices such as cellphones, personal computers and other devices of it’s kind uses 15 percent of all household electrical power and that number grows rapidly.
It was predicted that by year 2030, this percentage will triple if the required wattage for every gadget is 280 gigawatts of new generating capacity. This numbers was presented in their new book “Gadgets and Gigawatts: Policies for Energy Efficient Electronics” which covers a global assessment of residential energy consumption over the past decade. This book also shows the changing pattern of residential homes as they consume energy along with an in-depth analysis of how every gadget partakes in the large power consumption.
