Lexus & Crown Recall: 270,000 Vehicles Affected Worldwide

Toyota is recalling 270,000 Lexus and Crown vehicles due to a problem with the engine that's causing the vehicles to stall. So far, no crashes have been reported in relation to the defect. Toyota has had to recall over 10 million cars so far.

  • Crown

The recall will begin in Japan on July 5.

 

Shares in Toyota dropped 2.2% in Tokyo trading today.

"Investors thought Toyota had implemented a thorough quality control system, and the market's reaction is, 'is this happening again?'" Fumiyuki Nakanishi, manager at SMBC Friend Securities, told Reuters.
