Confused.. out of focus... a blur.... how I feel about my life right now.

I lost my job on Thursday at 3:00pm. My boss called me into his office along with our HR person and the first thing he said was "there's no easy way to say this". I worked really hard for that firm and after nights and weekends on my blackberry and god knows after how many hours of analytics, I get laid off.

I'm at a weird point in my career life. Part of me hopes to find a similar job, another part of me wants to do a major career change. My friends and family all call it a blessing in disguise. My mom said I needed the time off anyway and told me to make a trip to Manhattan to just get away. I think I just might do that. Anyhow, Monday's my first real day without a job so I'll see how I take it.
