Madoff and the Smirking Larry Kudlow and Press

I listened to Larry Kudlow last night ranting and raving, (more like grandstanding to me) that Bernie Madoff is SMIRKING. I say BALDERDASH! More yellow journalism, ipso facto. It's just his face, folks. Does he need to have a plastic surgeon turn that wide mouth into a frown to satisfy us. Will that do the trick? Whatever smile he had, has been wiped off permanenly. He faces jail for life and has brought massive woes on himself and his family. I look at him and I see nothing but a sad and badly broken man, along with many of his victims. Why wasn't  Kudlow reporting about the impending doom overshadowing Wall Street. He went on his merry way on his nightly show, laughing off naked short selling and counterfeiting shares.

The press and the SEC and the Government ignored Madoff like scams for years. After the fact, the press has finally had an epiphany. The markets have collapsed and they are now covered by a big TARP, giving the corrupt bankers that brought a lot of this ruination on us, billions of dollars to give themselves bonuses. Where were the gatekeepers? They have now snagged a 50 billion dollar ponzi scheme,  after his family turned himself in, and there is more corruption to come,  and after it wreaks its devastation, the media will be all over it. Whatever happened to investigative journalism? They knew the fire was smoldering, but they refused to yell FIRE! Can we hold them complicit in this mess? Isn't it their job? Should somebody be held accountable. They still sit on their perch in their gilded cage, and they still refuse to sing.

The press was nowhere to be found before the scam hit the fan, to help expose the corruption. We wrote them over and over again for years, about what was taking place on Wall Street. This is the man who has confessed to what may be the world's biggest financial scam - smiling as he is electronically tagged and returning to his $7m Manhattan flat to comply with curfew.

Bernard Madoff was pictured returning home to a media frenzy last night after being ordered under virtual house arrest by a judge.

The former financier must wear an electronic ankle bracelet to monitor his movements and is required to be at his Manhattan apartment from 7pm to 9am each day. He has already surrendered his passport.

The media has largely ignored the Provenge story as well. Almost 60,000 American men have died of prostate cancer without the benefit of access to a safe and effective immunotherapy, the FDA's own Advisory committee voted 17-0 safe and 13-4 substantial evidence of efficacy, and then delayed by a corrupt FDA, Wall Street and Pharmaceutical industry. Profits in the cancer industry are wagging the dog.

We just wrote another journalist, Mike Huckman of CNBC, again,  for the umpteenth thousandth time to try to get them to tell the Provenge story. After all, nobody died in the Madoff debacle. 60,000 Americans gone without the benefit of treatment. COME ON MEDIA. EXPOSE THE FDA. TELL THE PUBLIC! LET'S GET ANGRY!
