This one is getting complicated.

I am curious as to why it is important that he was the "Jewish Chairman" of the board and not just "chairman". Mr. Madoff also has been a major political donor, directing hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic lawmakers over the past two decades.
Since 1991, Madoff and other individuals connected with Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities made campaign contributions totaling $372,100, with about 89 percent of those funds directed to Democrats, according toOpenSecrets.org, the Web site of the Center for Responsive Politics. The majority of the senators and representatives who benefited from these donations were New York-area legislators.
In 2008, Madoff contributed $50,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, pushing his total donations to the group since 1992 over the six-figure mark.
So why don't we just include "Democrat" in the title? I know Tina, this makes a good story, but it ignites the minds of many, with negative connotations. "Anyone" could have done this and the fact he was Jewish, is not necessary to make note of. Hitler worked up a froth against the Jews when the financial structure of Germany fell in 1930 and see what happened there. Besides that, I have heard a few comments from the elderly in the jewish community regarding "guilt" and the fact that Madoff has "set back" the Jews with his actions. I personally want to say, forget the guilt for your sake, Madoff was a swindler and the fact he was a Jewish has nothing to do with it.
