Major Telco Outage in Western Canada

Sources close to MTS Allstream report that they have experienced a major outage on two OC192 fibre rings causing widespread service failures on telephone and data circuits in Western Canada. The cause of the outage and the estimated repair time are not yet known.

Attempts to confirm this story with Allstream themselves have failed owing to an inability to reach any of their telephone numbers (they all ring busy).
