Major US Car Manufacturers Facing Disaster, but Not Alone
The news from the Republican side of the isle today bode ill for GM and Chrysler. GOP party poopers said no to the massive bail out plans that the Bush Administration and the Democrats want to push through. NO WAY!
The problems facing Detroit automakers are poised to effect mainstreet. The suppliers of these industrial giants are in for an incredible extinction experience as well. Once the suppliers start to go down, then the dealers will have to go under. There are so many franchise stores that won't have the support of the parent companies, and the fallout from that alone will be inconsolable.
It is estimated that every franchise store supports about 50 employees at an anual average income of $60,000.00. How many are their in your town? Do the math...
Then there is europe with Volvo and other manufacturers that are owned by Ford and the other big 3. If the US companies go down, what will this portend for the subsidiary entities? Not positive things, that's for sure. Canada is screaming too, because there is a lot of manufactring of US vehicles going on up there.
Auto Mechanics, Auto Parts stores, Gas Stations, and an entire line up of supportive infrastructure go behind the momentum of these decisions.
