Nice one! A guy gets his laptop stolen, and uses his remote-access software to spy on the thief, who eventually screwed up and divulged his name and address to register for a web site.

"I reported the theft to the police and they were investigating, then I decided to sign on and see what the guy was doing with my computer,'' the 27-year-old White Plains man said. "Having remote access is such an advantage, because it allows you to do something like this.''
The incident marked the third time in recent months that tech-savvy victims have supplied police with information that led to arrests.

Aside from having a hilarious stock photo for this story, Slashdot also has a pithy moral:

The moral of the story: never go to a porn site where you have to register.
A similar thing happened in Vancouver, to former NowPublic neighbor Workspace.
