Massachusetts a leading U.S. state when it comes to 'firsts' for LGBT

Massachusetts was the first U.S. state to issue same-sex marriage licenses and now wants travelers to know that there is also something in Massachusetts for every LGBT traveler.

Its active marketing program is vital in reaching the LGBT community both nationally and internationally. The state continues to highlight its LGBT marketing message “it’s all here for everyone” by connecting LGBT travelers to MOTT’s dedicated LGBT microsite, blog, social media pages and now iPhone application as well as by hosting international LGBT events.

Developed by Gay Consultants Inc., the Massachusettes LGBT iPhone Application was launched on Monday by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT). It is the first U.S. Domestic LGBT Travel iPhone Application.

The LGBT Massachusetts iPhone Application lets users explore a directory of accommodations, nightlife, restaurants, and events, as well as search specific types of activities tailored to their interests using the "Persoa's" section. They can also "Explore by Region" and browse points of interest across the state or check out the "Spotlight" section, which features the latest LGBT hotspots. Besides that, you can keep up to speed with the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism's online blog.
