McAfee's 5958 DAT Update: McAfee Virus Update April 22
McAfee Still Working on 5958 DAT Update, Wants Users to Update Their McAfee Program
On April 21 thousands of computers around the world were affected by a W32/Wecorl.a false positive with the 5958 DAT update, which caused computers running a Windows XP Service Pack 3 to shut down within one minute of starting up.
McAfee released blog notices about the issue and kept their customers updated as best they could and said that they removed the faulty update from all McAfee download servers a few hours after they realized what had happened.
However, customers were still impacted and on April 22 have released some instructions on what to do if you are a McAfee customer.
Information for a corporate or business user.

If you would like to speak to someone at McAfee, you can use their contact page to find the phone number nearest you.
McAfee stated that the problem hit about 0.5 percent of their customers, however damaged computers include those in hospitals and governments and customers on Twitter are very angry about what has happened.
Be warned that malware sites and hackers will take advantage of people looking on Google for a fix so it could damage your computer even more. Do not click an update from anyone except McAfee themselves (links provided above) and do not trust any site that claims to have a fix but does not seem to be affiliated with McAfee in any way.
If you are in doubt, contact them and ask them to walk you through the process.
