Microsoft has withdrawn its Yahoo bid and the yahoos have suffered the consequences.

With the public markets now open, we know what the damage is from Yahoo failing to reach a deal with Microsoft. With shares trading around $23 this morning, Yahoo sits $10 below Microsoft’s revised offer, which equates to a bit more than $14 billion that was left on the table. On the plus side, if there is one, Yahoo is only down 18 percent so far today, and at $23, is still about 20 percent higher than it was before Microsoft made its initial offer.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is up nearly 3 percent today, as shareholders apparently applaud the company holding onto its $47 billion for now.
