Mobile lands Airbus Contract
It’s now official that Airbus will be building the A320 line of airplane at the Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile Alabama.
The announcement of Airbus being located in Mobile came on Monday July 2, 2012 at the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center located at 1 South Water Street in historic downtown Mobile.
Fabrice Bregier who is the Airbus President and CEO of Airbus made the announcement and plans at a ceremony held at the Mobile Convention Center.
The six million dollar aircraft plant in Mobile should possibly generate between 2000 and 3000 jobs for the people either working for Airbus or businesses that will conduct business with Airbus.
EADS opened on February of 2007 at 1801 South Broad Street located at the Bookley Field Aeroplex as a supplier of Airbus has been assembling and building elements for Airbus such as galleys, lavatories and cabin compartments.
EADS also has another location in Mobile located at 8100 Airbus Military Drive Mobile Alabama 36608.

Construction for the Airbus factory is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2013 and the first plan is scheduled to be delivered sometime in 2016.
