for those who don't read chinese --
the poster, common outside many of the small "newsstand" type shops in chinatown, says at top: "newest map of tai shan." tai shan (literal translation: platform mountain) is a county in the guangdong province of china from where a lot of chinese immigrants came since the early days.
on one of the glossy glam magazines on display is this headline: "beautiful black. sweet beautiful black." i am not sure what means. maybe little black dresses is back in fashion again. if it is, i am for it.
