This counterfeit bill came from the Wells Fargo branch inside the supermarket on El Toro and Trabuco, in Foothill Ranch, CA. When my co-worker brought it back to the bank the next day, they refused to exchange it for a real one (they wouldn't even look at it).
Moral of the story: check your money before you leave the bank.

I can't believe they wouldn't even look at it! That's crazy and I feel bad for your friend who is now out $100.

The same thing just happened to me....Wells Fargo Bank on Valencia Rd in Tucson AZ gave me a counterfeit $50 yesterday. I went in first thing this morning and they told me that the teller was very experienced and never would have made a mistake like that and that they could not help me because I left the bank with the money. The customer service person I spoke with was extremely rude and basically said it was my fault and I should have known because it was obvious. I cashed a check for $4600 and never once touched the money while in the bank because the teller counted it and put it into the envelope for me. What was I supposed to do check every single bill before I walked out of the bank. I used to think not, now I say YES!!!!!! Check every bill no matter what and stay away from Wells Fargo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
