TruemorsHere is everything I got today for my first Legos. Oh sure, we have some incomplete sets of Tyco Super Blocks and Loc Blocs, but I personally never owned Legos. I did want some when I was a little kid, but they were too expensive. The scales of the two from the Speed Racer set are the same as the Police Chopper, but as you can see the yellow car is slightly smaller. The Snake Oiler dude does not fit inside. I love the gull-wing doors though. The smaller red & black (ZX Turbo) car shows a scale of 1:55 on the package. I of course had to buy a Police Helocopter to chase down any "speeders". ;-)

I am usure how this affects the current situation. Mega Bloks and Tyco Super Blocks (to name just two of many) are already compatible with Lego. I had thought they were no longer sold until I saw Tyco Super Blocks in a store the other day. If companies already imitate Lego freely, I do not really see how this changes anything. Personally, I like all the various ideas the different companies come up with. I say let the competition roll! I bought the Lego Speed Racer sets and a few others because I liked the vehicles Lego came up with. Whichever company comes up with the best idea deserves to sell that idea and you know what? If all these sets fit together so my own imagination can run wild, so much the better!
