my PICKIT2 microcontroller programmer

here just the bare PCB, i do not connect directly but using a programming cable.

i have examined the layout and it is good, i think, it would be difficult to create a better PCB layout.
i have looked because i have seen some cloned PCBs, which are larger, and as it looks, also larger SMD parts. maybe more complicated layout?

also shown are two new USB chips from microchip, these one's have DIL pitch for the pins (can be soldered more easy by occasional users).
