I think Microsoft is not that ready to take the gme of antiviruses.

Baptized as Morro, this is set to deal with viruses but the thing is it lacks the wide range of utilities that is commonly offered in paid security software suites such as parental locks. Microsoft promised a much improved security software since their first attempt via Windows Live OneCare. Too bad that this project didn’t satisfy many customers and instead turn into other security giants such as Symantec and McAfee.

Once Morro paved its way, Microsoft advised that they will discontinue the operations of Live OneCare. Aside from viruses, Morro can detect and fight spyware, rootkits and Trojans that greatly affects one’s computer system. Other than Microsoft, other antivirus giants such as AVG and Alwil already released their free antivirus softwares for public consumption. Meanwhile, Symantec’s Janice Chaffin declared that consumers want more than just basic protection instead they are more into a full internet security which includes treating and deleting viruses.

Charity never helps to the society.

If M$ thinks that they will gain RELIABILITY by giving free software to users, they are doing completely wrong. If after downloading this software, adding some effective patches into it, if i redistribute it to others, will M$ allow me to earn money by it ?? No answer.

Same for Dream spark and just declared for Windows 7 also. if a student after developing Technology, because Bill Gates's crieteria is only "Student", "free software" and "Technology" , doing own business , will he permit freely?? No answer.
