Netflix Site Down, DVD Shipments Unaffected

Netflix went down yesterday, but the popular video-rental and -streaming site is back online. The outage did not affect shipment of DVDs already in members' rental queues. Streaming video and the browsing and addition of new titles were cut off when the Netflix site was down, as the actual shipping continued unimpeded.

Netflix said its engineers are working to bring the site back up as quickly as possible, but did not elaborate on the problem.

I wonder if it was hacked or a power outage? Any word on what caused this to happen yet?
