I'm a big fan of the Amazon Kindle. The idea of having an electronic device that can hold thousands of books is a winner in my book. I held off buying one because of the size, the fact that it was first gen, and I didn't like the look of it.
Well, Plastic Logic has released an e-reader that looks like paper (but is really hard plastic), is thinner, and has a bigger screen than the Kindle. It looks like a beautiful device and I'd be happy to own one of those.

The reader will go on sale in the first half of next year. Plastic Logic will not announce which news organization will display its articles on it until the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, when it will also reveal the price.

Unfortunately my dream of a flexible reader is still a pipe dream...

The ideal format, a flexible display that could be rolled or folded like a newspaper, is still years off, says E Ink.

As e-readers drop in price and become more practical, this will demonstrate a shift in distribution channels for publishers and put Web Sites and print media on the same playing field.

Well you'll just have to slip your plastic logo version of your copy of the NY times inside your ultra-thin apple ibook bag and wait a few years for the rolled up version lol....sux to have to suffer like that don't it? lol WAAAA

j/k

The Kindle works great for beach novels, because even the e-ink screen handles even the brightest sunlight with ease. Try reading your MacBook Air at Old Orchard Beach south of Portland, Maine!
