Apple October 20th Event To Focus on Mac- New OS X To Be Called Lion?

Selected media have received invitations to an Apple media conference and event scheduled for October 20th at 10:00 am in Cupertino.

The Apple invitation features a Lion peeking out from behind the Apple Logo with the tag line "back to the mac."

The invitation has lead to speculation that Apple will be unveiling a new OS X called Lion replacing the current Snow Leopard, which replaced the Leopard OS, which replaced the Tiger OS, which replaced Panther.

Mac OS X Names, List

So Apple could pick from a list of lesser know, diminutive,  but equally fierce cats such as the Cerval, Ocelot, Lynx, Margay and Cougar (although Courtney Cox may object).

Or the could choose the greatest cat of all first identified by Napoleon Dynamite, The Liger
