Somewhere around April '10 i wrote Dan, the inventor of majicJack, about the following idea. Because of my background in telecommunications, i suggested he modify the jack to be able to plug directly into your internet/router via ethernet cable :) This would allow you to avoid the virtual monopoly of 'dial tone' provided by your local telephone service.. Of course, local cable companies are wading into the fray by providing dial-tone over cable modem.. But at a hefty price.. Only magicJack provides dial-tone at a fraction of the cost.. The way you configure your local network, you don't have to be a genius to 'sort it out'.. You essentially 'kill' your monopoly-provided dial-tone by isolating your house from the telecom network: you do this at the network interface by simply unplugging the feed to your home.. Then you plug magicJack into your internet (one end); the other end you plug into a nearby phone jack :) Simple as that! Presto! Instant dial-tone and over your whole home! :)

Again, you don't need to be a technician/engineer/genius to figure this out.. You simply need access to three things: your internet, a phone jack for your home, and your telecom network-interface :) and follow instructions above.. Be very very careful around your electrical system if any component is nearby.. And you follow the procedure above at your own risk – don't blame me if you 'blow up' one of your extensions he.. But unless you have a supercomputer attached to your telephone network, i kinda doubt anything serious will happen ;)

Dan is not recognizing me for my idea, he's not sending me any portion of his profits ;) i'm simply promoting his product because i vehemently don't endorse the opposite: a Microsoft-like monopoly of dial-tone :( while at the same time encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation :) ..i'm not into horseback riding whatever and am NOT part of Florida elite he – far from it! ;) So i basically understand why Dan is not interested in associating with me nor recognizing me for the idea.. Nbd.

A funny aside to this story is the name of his chip designer: Dr. Sing ;) If your a Star Trek fan, you know the inventor of Data was a Dr. Noonien Sing 'probably' not the same Dr. Sing .. oops .. That's Dr. Soong sorry ;) Anyways, the fact it took him over 1.5 years to produce the modification .. Maybe he was busy working on Data ;) he.. Sigh.. i know Star Trek jokes.. Sorry. ;)

If your claim had merit, you would be talking to a patent attorney instead of writing this on NowPublic.

dear scrivener, i appreciate ur comment and reading the article :) thank you :) but.. i'd rather collaborate, share, inspire, and befriend than sue in court he - not my style ;) now if our culture supported this attitude, i'm sure there'd be a lot less superfluous litigation and litigation in general.. "where's my f'ing piece of the pie!" vs "hey bro! howzit hangin?"; our culture needs to educate our children toward the latter not the former.. at the risk of beating a dead horse, we need to learn how to share better :) not exploit better..
