New Porsche 911 Turbo - less is more
After 35 years, since the first 911 Turbo saw daylight, 7th 911 generation is hitting the streets. During credit crunch and high fuel prices supercars lost their value, but this one, the new 911 Turbo, has it's own advantages.
The six cylinder 3.8 litre twin-turbo engine with direct fuel injection develops 493bhp. 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Top speed of 312km/h.
But numbers like these don't give you an impression of fuel economy. 11,4 - 11,7 litre per 100 km - there are cars that can do more for the price. But fuel consumption is reduced by 16% despite the increase of the power. And this is done by the help of direct fuel injection. Known as a 'vacum cleaner', Porsche has reduced CO2 emissions by 18%.
Porsche is well known for it's good handling and astonishing grip. Four wheel-drive and new technologys makes the new 911 Turbo safer. The new rear wing will be automatically deployed at 120 km/h and retracted when car will slow down at around 60 km/h.
And if you hit the 'Sport' button from time to time, you won't mind the new gearshift paddles. Situated behind the steering wheel they increase driving performance.
Available in coupe and convertible versions, the new 911 Turbo prices starts at £101 000 for coupe and £109 000 for cabrio.
