The NFU representative wasn't worried about the HS2 link destroying the Stoneleigh showground presumably because Stoneleigh was the home of The Royal Show, which is no longer held, and no other show fills the showground site.More importantly, back in the early 2000s the NFU built their premises on the Stoneleigh showground site, which made a huge impact to the flow of the Royal Show and could have been a major contributing factor to the decision to cancel the Royal Show for good.It's also strange that the RASE do not keep their own members informed of issues such as the HS2. The Royal Show is no longer run (Stoneleigh was the home to the Royal Show)
