President Barack Obama's national security credentials will likely never be higher. He has done what President Bush failed to do with the assassination of Osama bin Laden. More recently, the drone attack on American citizen Anwar Al-Awlaki was another move his predecessor either refused or failed to employ. Undoubtedly, the tandem of strikes has stripped away the national security card that Republicans relish playing against Democrats.

This is an opportune moment for bold decisions in foreign policy.
