Joey Hudy's Extreme Marshmallow Cannon Wows the White House

The 14-year-old Phoenix resident Joey Hudy managed to capture US President Barack Obama's attention during the White House Science Fair.

Joey Hudy designed the Extreme Marshmallow Cannon: if this photo is any indication, it lived up to its name.

Joey Hudy's Extreme Marshmallow Cannon (no doubt getting scrutinized by DARPA as we speak) made in impression on the White House's walls, too.

You can see photos and video of the geektastic Extreme Marshmallow Cannon demonstration below. Quake in fear, enemies of America!

Joey Hudy is gunning to become a real-life Tony Stark: besides weapons of gelatinous-mass destruction, he also designs and builds microcontroller kits, which have been a big hit at Maker Faire.

In addressing the participants of the White House Science Fair, who had all won science fairs in their hometowns, Obama said, "The young people I met today... you guys inspire me. It's young people like you that make me so confident that America's best days are still to come. When you work and study and excel at what you doing in math and science, when you compete in something like this, you're not just trying to win a prize today; you're getting America in shape to win the future."
