As part of a new regime of financial disclosure laws implemented by Gov. Bobby Jindal and the Legislature, many state and local public officials in Louisiana will have to report certain financial and government contracting information next spring. Those who desired to avoid the requirements had until Monday to resign from their positions.

So far 232 have resigned. More to come.
