Pac Man is Still One of the Most Popular Computer Games Ever and on May 22 it is Turning 30!

Pac Man was first released in Japan by Namco Bandai Games on May 22 1980 under the name Puck Man. It was not until its United States release in October 1980 that it was called the now iconic Pac Man.

Well on May 22 2010 this game will celebrate its 30th anniversary and Google has decided to turn its homepage in to a mini arcade to celebrate. This is Google's first ever interactive doodle and it is already a major hit with Internet users.

All you have to do is go to the Google homepage and either wait 10 seconds for your game to start or you can click 'insert coin' and the game will start right away. You use your mouse to click where you want Pac Man to go and if you are successful at the game Ms. Pac Man will appear as well.

This Google doodle will be available for the next 48 hours and it has 256 levels so you can devote most of your day to conquering the game.

The game is listed by Guinness World Records as the world's most successful coin-operated game.

There have also been Pac Man game editions for the iPhone and iPad released to celebrate Pac Man's anniversary.
