The kind of bag Americans might soon need is different than the song-inspiring bag into which they packed all their troubles nearly a century ago — and it’s not a “kit” bag.

In 1915, when George Asef and Felix Powell came up with the lyrics for the song, “Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag (click to hear lyrics),” the world was a much different place than it is today.  World War I had not begun, and Americans still believed in baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and a four-year-old company that went by the name, Chevrolet.

Thanks largely to the actions President Barack Obama 94 years later, there’s been a dramatic change in the kind of bag Americans will need once after they lose their homes, their jobs and their life savings:

  • Baseball players are “juiced”;
  • Hot dogs are destined to be outlawed due to health concerns;
  • Apple pie is being redistributed regardless of an individual’s ability to pay for it; and
  • Chevrolet is running on rims after its parent company, General Motors went bankrupt.

What kind of bag will Americans soon be using?  Hint:  “Grandma Obama” would appreciate it, and what you deposit inside the bag might help everything in your “victory garden” grow.  For the answer, click here, scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the instructions.
