Swashbuckling Mac’s patrons prepare to haul grand prize loot in final giveaway

The time to divide the spoils has come. Five swashbucklers are in the draw to win one of three bountiful prizes from Mac’s ‘Shiver Me Frosters’ competition. For the past 5 months Mac’s Convenience Store’s patrons have been quenching their thirst and ramping up points with the Shiver Me Frosters Pirate Battle game, a savvy online competition pitting aspiring pirates and buccaneers cutlass-to-cutlass in a quest for points and booty.

“We’re very excited to see this kind of unique brand engagement, and the connection fostered between each neighbourhood Mac’s and their patrons,” says Kelly McGuire, Senior Director of Operations, Western Division, Mac’s Convenience Stores. “The enthusiasm for the contest has brought back repeat customers, and many more who were curious about the online game and huge prizes. The grand prizes are unprecedented for a convenience store franchise. Buzz has been building around the contest as players across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba battled for point superiority on Mac’s high seas”.

The contest is exclusive to Mac’s Western Canada, who will be giving away over $100,000 worth of prizes including a 2010 Mazda 3 Speed, a $10,000 American Express trip, and a $5,000 Sony Home Theatre package.

The grand prize event will take place June 6th, at Eau Claire Market in downtown Calgary.

Erin Stone of Lethbridge, Grant LaPierre of Rapid City, Derek Nicholls of Calgary, Justin Egger of Lethbridge and Barry Ostafichuk of Edmonton are the lucky scurvy dogs each with their eyes on hauling away some of the sizzling treasures.
