Possibilities arise for jobless from awkward small talk

It's that time of year for holiday parties and, inevitably, talk always seems to come around to, "What do you do for a living?"

For those recently downsized, there's no easy answer.

This is a great way to network. I've attended fewer holiday parties because I'm unemployed, but I network at the ones I have attended. The unfortunate thing is that no one is hiring.
