RCB vs PWI Live Score - IPL 2013 Match 46 Bangalore vs Pune Live
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bat against Pune Warriors India at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on Thursday (May 2) in their Pepsi Indian Premier League 2013 game.
Pune made two changes to their side with Angelo Mathews and Ajantha Mendis included in place of Luke Wright and Kane Richardson. Mathews had been designated Pune’s captain at the start of the season but he has now returned as a player with Aaron Finch confirming that he would lead Pune for the remainder of the tournament.
“Angelo has decided to step aside and we just thought it’ll be better to have one captain playing throughout the tournament,” said Finch at the toss.
Bangalore, searching for their first away win of the season, also made several changes, bringing in KL Rahul, Arun Karthik and Muttiah Muralitharan in place of Abhinav Mukund, Jaydev Unadkat and Ravi Rampaul.
This is a match Pune have to win to keep alive the slim chances they have of qualifying for the playoffs – they currently have only four points from ten matches. “We have to make it as difficult as possible for opponents to make it to the playoffs, and that’s what we’re focusing on doing,” said Finch.
Virat Kohli, the Bangalore captain, said his decision to bat first was made keeping in mind the nature of the pitch, which he described as “slow”. “It will get slower as the game progresses so we’re looking to put runs on the board,” explained Kohli.
Both teams came into the match on the back of losses, with Bangalore having lost their last two matches and Pune on a five-match losing streak.
