The ROMS and EPROMS stored programs such as word processors, the Disc Filing System.

There were also ROMS EPROMS for BASIC and the Operating System. Unlike ROMS, EPROMS could be erased and programmed.

Erasing was usually carried out using UV light which would shine through the small window.
