Russia's Glonass to go global by year end - Putin

The american monopoly is very soon going to end with the installation of Global Navigation System (GLONAS),if the plan will execute as per schedule.

Russia will complete the formation of a global navigation satellite group by the end of the current year, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.

The GLONAS umbrella will covered by 24 and 28 satellites and signals will be received any point on the earth.This system will be equivalent to the GPS system of USA and it will be used for both military and civil purpouse ,the system has the capablity to determine the position within few meters.
