Sean Connery traffic warden dies
Below is a story about a traffic warden who has recently died.
I remember this bloke from a few years ago when he gave Scottish celebrity Sean Connery a parking ticket.
I though I would share this story.
A TRAFFIC warden who famously gave Sir Sean Connery a ticket has died.
Retired Sandy Bennett, 65, also helped nab crooks behind Britain’s biggest-ever drugs haul — worth £100million — during his career.
But he lost his battle with cancer two days after celebrating his 42nd wedding anniversary with wife Isobel.
Larger-than-life Sandy — who died last Friday — earned an MBE for services to his community in Kingussie, Inverness-shire. His funeral was held last Tuesday.
Last night son Bobby said: “He got enjoyment out of seeing people happy.”
Former provost Tommy Wade called him “a big man with a big heart”.
Sandy hit the headlines as a warden in 1991, helping cops nail a drugs van which led to the cocaine haul.
In 1993 he ticketed former 007 Connery’s Land Rover in Kingussie.
