Sharks in the Mall Photo: Is This Kuwait Shark Tank Pic Real?
Sharks Lurking in Kuwait Scientific Center?
The photo below depicts sharks swimming in what looks like a shopping mall. Allegedly the shark tank collapsed at the Kuwait Scientific Center, liberating these apex predators, who are lurking at the bottom of the escalators, no doubt to the strains of cello music...
Check out the fantastic shark photo below, but bear in mind that it's fake. See, we're yet to find independent verification that the Kuwait Scientific Center suffered any kind of shark-tank malfunction, let alone a full-on collapse. Normally, this sort of thing makes the news, or at least gets photographed by more than one person.
Not only is the Kuwait shark photo fake, it's also sort of old. Toronto residents have seen this pic before: it was one of the remixes of a Union Station flood photo from May 2012.
So pack your Bat Shark Repellent, and a few grains of salt.
(Just to satisfy your desire to see real-life shark footage, we're including video of the fully-operational Kuwait Scientific Center's shark tank.)

No, it's not real. lol That is a photoshopped image from a meme that went around after a flood in Toronto, Canada's Union Station. More pics can be found here: www.blogto.com/city/2012/06/a_roundup_of_union_station_flood_funnies/

Any idea where this image came from? If not Toronto or Kuwait, then is it a scene from a movie? A very creative tank? Photoshopped? A broken tank somewhere else? It's such a cool photo, would love to know how it was made. My guess is a scene from a movie.

You didn't bother to read what was written, did you? It says it's photoshopped. I will never understand why people don't bother to read anything before they comment.

@Nalafeina: Did YOU actually read the piece? If so, care to point out where it says this is photoshopped? The *article* that is, not the random comment by Nickola who may or may not be correct.

Um, @TXCiclista, Did you read Nickola's comment and check out the URL? Not quite a random comment. Even the mayor of Toronto got in on the flooding meme there.

Also if you look at water level at base of escalator... there wouldn't be enough water for sharks that size to be swimming.... just saying....

To Me Honestly I still find doubts about how a shark that big can possibly be under the water. If You look closely to the exit doors you would notice the water level is Not high enough for 2 sharks of those sizes to swim in there. and if this is what some people assume to have happened in a mall then how can that much water make a pool to the whole place in there? and How does it show the exit door has low water level while the other side looks as if its high? total false pic To me

Fake becauseA) they are great white sharks, and they are not in captivity (apart from young ones that were in monterey bay aquarium a few years ago) andB) www.hoax-slayer.com/images/shark-kayak.jpg the shark on the left of the kuwaot center photo is the same as the same in this photo. Only scaled down, and the one with the canoe is real btw

it is a photoshop hoax...the picture is actually a flooded mall in Toronto, Canada and a guy photoshopped sharks into the pic as a gag after the story broke that a shark tank at the science center in kuwait had sprung a leak (which, by the way, was a very minor leak) here is the news story on it...the guy is actually getting job offers for his photoshop skills now lol www.grindtv.com/surf/blog/33883/fear+not+there+are+no+sharks+swimming+in+your+mall/
