I wondered if it was legal to take anyone's pic, however, without their permission....I usually get permission, but I had to get to my gate and trying to take the picture with no one walking in front of the camera was difficult. I asked one woman to move to get the photo...

Don't wish to quibble but I doubt if this stand was manned by Barclays staff. I note that the sign which was later put up does not allude to Barclays but to US Airways and Mastercard (an organistaion that Barclays does not own). I have seen similar ploys in the UK for a range of credit card companies.

Might have been better had you got details of WHO the staff actually worked for - probably a marketing company employed by the Mastercard company and reported it back as a formal complaint to Mastercard or Barclays and got their response on it. They may have terminated any agency arrangement.

Are you not concerned that the headline you're running this under is potentially libelous?

No, I am not concerned about any liability.

Are you kidding?

They took my personal information and misrepresented what they were doing with it.

There were no signs up...I quoted in my article the exact works which the marketing people said to me. I know how they are trained.

And, I am very knowledgeable about contract law.

US Airways allowed Barclays to set up tables on THEIR rented space at the airport.

Barclays, using the ruse of signing people up for the frequent flier miles were actually trying to sign people up for their credit card services.

Seems like fraud to me.
