The transition from high school to university can be a very nerve-racking experience for quite a few students. For a lot of young people, it represents an entrance point into adult life, and an awareness of the options and choices that are to come.
First of all, potential university students face a range of options, which comes about once school is over. As a result, this experience can seem puzzling and overwhelming for a lot of students who enter university directly from high school. After five years in a normal high school environment, university can seem very large and impersonal.
If one is fortunate enough to have high school friends attend the same university as he or she, then it makes the experience ten times better, however, not everyone has the advantage of having their high school friends attend the same university, as there are a lot of cases where friends go their separate ways. However, at the Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus, the experience is twenty times better, due to the smaller class sizes, and the size of the university. With a smaller class size of 50-60 people, students will be assured that they will have their needs recognized.
Smaller class sizes not only guarantee that students will be given more individual attention, but it also means that each moment will be more personal. Consequently, students are able to get to know their fellow classmates much better because it is a smaller environment. I also cannot forget to mention the fact that professors and teachers assistants are readily available more frequently than that of larger universities, due to the fact that there are less students.
As a student of the Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus, I can be walking around on campus, and I will run into ten people that I know from previous classes because it is such a small campus. Now, in a large university environment how many people do you run into that you know? Probably not very many people, due to the fact that other universities are so big.

Are you sure the experience is 20 times better? Do you have statistics?

It is better compared to other universities because it has smaller class sizes, which equals more one-on-one time. Trust me, you don't get very many universities that are this small in size.
