Sony Hacked Again: Phishing Sites on Sony Servers

Sony, having just relaunched PSN after a month-long outage, has been hacked again. F-Secure found fishing sites run on Sony servers. While the latest hack that put up the phishing sites seems unrelated to the huge data breach from last month, it nonetheless shows that there are still gaps in Sony's security.

hdworld.sony.co.th, a subdomain of Sony Thailand, was showing an Italian-language phishing site. Both white-hat and black-hat security experts have been scrutinizing Sony very heavily lately, and it looks like the latter group found a leverage point. At the time of this writing, the hdworld site is offline, so it looks like Sony is fixing it.

"I believe this particular site might run on some ad agency's IP address. Nevertheless, it's under Sony's name, so technically, it's Sony's server."

When I checked just moments ago, the URL indicated in the screen shot returned a 404 error, so it seems Sony, or someone, moved rather quickly to take down the site.
